The Vankar community has been into the craft of weaving for a long time. They weave a wide variety of woolen shawls. Their parallel occupation is farming castor. Within the community of 50 families, only 10-15 of them still practice the craft. Rest provide manual labour for construction. Their products are displayed in various exhibitions and competitions around the country and also abroad. Premji Bhai, a Vankar craftsman has won Gujarat State Government Award for practicing this craft.
